The Donkervoort is a Dutch sports cars brand, manufactured by the Donkervoort Automobielen BV . The name of the company comes from its founder, Joop Donkervoort, who had the idea of opening a plant back in 1978.

As you will be able to see in the Donkervoort wallpapers, as well as in the Donkervoort photos gallery and in the Donkervoort pictures, the gathering of this brand name cars is impressive and the design is chic. The main Donkervoort car models include the Donkervoort S7 from 1978, the S8 made between 1985 and 1989, or the incredible S8A which featured a Ford OHC 2 liter engine, the S8 AT with multiple features such as an intercooler, a Garret T3 turbo charger and a 3 way catalytic converter. This model was manufactured between 1986 and 1994, and was soon followed by the D 10, which also had a Garett T3 turbo charger, but had a much stronger engine.

The D8 Zetec model from Donkervoort, which you also admire in some Donkervoort pictures, was the car of the nineties from this manufacturer, having a Zetec engine and being produced throughout the nineties. The D8 Cosworth was also a nineties' car, with also some very cost effective features and a great design.

The D8 Audi (also known as the AGU) made the transition form the Ford engines to the Audi ones.

The engines used by the manufacturers were different; at the beginnings they used the Ford Zetec engines, which came to be replaced by the Audi engines, more suitable for a sports car with pretensions such as the Donkervoort super sports autos.

Some other Donkervoort followed such as the Audi E gas, the D8 270 RS, the D8E 280 or the D8 GT, all featuring an Audi engine. The D8 270 RS the D8E 280 and the Donkervoort D8 GT are all in production as we speak. They also have the common feature of drive by wire, plus a 1.8 L Audi engine with individual specs for each of these models. All these three automobiles are turbo charged of course.
