GMC, or the General Motor Company is a very famous brand name. It represents many other subdivisions, such as the Vauxhall, Chevrolet, Pontiac or Hummer. Consequently, Hummer is a well known name in the off road auto field.

At the beginnings, the Hummer was constructed under the name of AM General Corporation, a division of the AMC Jeep's general products. A few well known models made by Hummer are the H1, the H2 and the H3. The H1 is a great car, in all possible ways, being made after a military vehicle: the high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle- also known as the Humvee. The Humvee is a great off road vehicle, but does not perform really well on regular tracks. The H2 and the H3 are just some versions of the H1, but they are much smaller and more suitable as passenger vehicles. Then there is also the popular M 998 vehicle, a car of the nineties, which was designed for the great public. Arnold Schwarzenegger is a great M 998 fan. The Hummer brand name started to sell well after the General Motors takeover. They started exporting to other corners of the world, and the Australian co-operation turned out to be a great success. It's worth mentioning the Japan has also the H3 available in car dealerships, while the US was proud to have their Hummer for sale as well.

There is also a division of Hummer trucks that are available for the grand public. They will run on biofuel, that's what the management has in mind for the future of Hummer.

However, it's sad to hear that Hummer's future has not yet been decided, rumor has it that the brand name may be for sale.
