Among the many luxury car manufacturers, Lincoln is a distinctive one, being a product of America , presently being owned by the prestigious Ford Motor Company.

The company was founded by Henry M. Leeland, back in 1917, giving it the name of Lincoln in the honor of Abraham Lincoln, a president for which he has voted. The company was taken over by Ford in 1922.

The Lincoln models are quite a few, all being one of kind luxury vehicles. Let's take for example the Lincoln L Sport Touring car from 1929 and compare it to the later sports Zephyr or the later Lincoln Convertible from 1949 and you'll see the changes that have been made to the autos in the early stages of the company's existence.

There's also the Lincoln Premier, the Lincoln Continental Convertible, the Lincoln Continental from 1978 and the Lincoln Town car, being released in several editions including the years 1990 and 2000.

Lincoln is also proud to present some presidential cars in its impressive gallery of achievements. Franklin Delano Roosevelt used a Sunshine Special V 12 convertible and the list of presidential cars could go on, Lincoln being really the US presidents' favorite make of car and limos.

More recent Lincoln models include the followings: the Town Car (a full sized luxury sedan), the Navigator- a full sized luxury SUV, the Lincoln MKX – being a crossover luxury SUV, the Lincoln Mark LT – a luxury pick-up and last but not least the Lincoln MKZ, a mid size luxury sedan. The prices of these recent Lincoln models range from as low as $ 31,000 for the minimal Lincoln MKZ and rise up till a bit over $ 62,000 for a fully equipped Lincoln Navigator, which is quite reasonable, considering that we are dealing with a luxury brand.

The future models include the MKS, announced for the year 2009, a model that will replace the Town Car model.
